View larger size  Mittermaier House, Karlsstrasse 8 The Mittermaier House is on the eastern side of the row of buildings to the south of the square. This stately Baroque house was occupied starting in 1822 by the legal scholar and major liberal Karl Joseph Anton Mittermaier (1787-1867), and until 1958 by his descendents.
